Attached is the practice math section I'd like you to take before our first session. I'd recommend printing it out double-sided so you can flip through it similarly to the real test booklet.

If the problems look familiar, just let me know and I'll get a replacement test.

Try to do it all in one 50-minute sitting. You can use a calculator throughout the test. If and only if you don't have a calculator, use https://www.desmos.com/calculator. You can use as much scratch paper as you need.

50:00

Timer not started.

You don't need a bubble sheet; you can just circle your answer. Feel free to erase or cross out circles if you change your mind.

As you take the test, make these two marks:

  1. If you're unsure about a question, please circle the question number. You can make an educated guess if you think you might know the answer. If you have no idea, just skip it.
  2. Put a small dot next to any question number if it takes unusually long or feels inefficient, even if you think you got it right.

When time is up, stop right away. You can take a break for as long as you need, but don't look up any answers. Then, attempt any problem that was circled or dotted with no timer - take as long as you need. You can put your new answer on the side or in a different color.

When you're finished, please send the test to me digitally. You can scan it, take pictures, or use the Adobe Scan app. You don't need to check your answers (we'll go over them in our first session), but if you'd like to see how you did beforehand, just let me know and I'll send you your score and answer key.
